On Fri. Mar. 12, China’s State Council issued the 2021 Government Work Report. The Report proposes carrying out high level opening to the outside world and promoting high quality, stable foreign trade & foreign investment. China will implement larger-scale, broader, more in-depth opening up, better entering into international economic cooperation. It will promote stable growth in import and export.
Credit support for small and medium-sized companies will be strengthened, and export credit insurance coverage will be broadened, optimizing credit protections and claims settlement conditions, and deepening work in the Foreign Exchange Receipts and Payments of Trade Facilitation Pilot Area.
It will engage in steady process trade, develop cross-border e-commerce and other new retail industry formats and modes, supporting companies as they open up new, diverse markets. China will develop border trade and innovative service trade. Import tax policies will be optimized, increasing the import of high-quality products and services. Promotion of services will be strengthened, and the China International Import Expo, the China Import and Export Fair, the China International Fair for Trade in Services, the China International Consumer Products Expo and other major Expos will be held successfully. China will promote free-flowing international logistics, clarify standards for trade port fees, and continue to improve customs clearance convenience.
The first China International Consumer Products Expo is jointly hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and the Hainan Province People’s Government, and is a national level expo held by the Trade Development Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce and the Hainan International Economic Development Bureau. It will be held May 7-10, 2021, at the Hainan International Convention Center located in Haikou.
